Meet the Bead Queen

Angelique Frost is an entrepreneur, model, and speaker. Angelique has a heart for motivating women to be all they can be and reminding them they too can overcome. The last of nine children, Angelique was born in Wrightsville, GA, but grew up in Tampa, FL. Life wasn’t easy for Angelique during her formative years. With both parents absent from her life, Angelique’s grandmother raised her. The first to graduate high school in her family Angelique was determined to excel. She continued her education at Hillsborough Community College, later transferring to South University, eventually earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Strayer University.

While in college, 21-year-old Angelique was graced with a son, Ramarsjae. His birth sparked the catalyst for her Bead Empire. Things were going well, but her desire to be present in her son’s life caused her to put the dream for the jewelry brand on hold.

In 2016, Angelique was helping a neighbor unload some items from their car when she was shot just outside her home during a drive by. She found herself at an all-time low. The doctors put her in a medically induced coma. During this time, she saw a vision of her son and found herself begging God for one more chance.

The night of the incident, Angelique made a decision to follow God, but her journey to true inner healing had only begun. Physically, she had to learn how to walk again, mentally, how to become her again. She was restrained to a bed and had to rely on others, which was at times, unbearable, but it taught her a lot because the same thing that crippled her also awakened a sixth sense: an empirical thirst for knowledge. Angelique says her “other self was awakened.” She became determined to change her life and find a way out of poverty for her and her son for good.

Once she said ‘yes’ to her new lease on life, Angelique began to read and to pray. God showed up in multiple ways evening sending a stranger to help her obtain a bank loan to get Ramarsjae back off the ground.

Angelique knows what it’s like to lose your voice, to face rejection, and relational abuse. She created Ramarsjae to help other women find beauty within their pain. Each colored bead has a meaning and was carefully chosen to remind women that they are meant for more.

I had to face humiliation. I was pushed down, kicked, ridiculed at that time; it wasn’t until I came so close to death that I realized how much life truly means...
